The Work Academy offers a range of first rung qualifications to NEET young people, many of whom have low levels of reading and writing skills as a result of not completing their school education. In order to support learner achievement, The Work Academy uses a variety of means to evidence newly acquired knowledge and skills. Thanks to a recent award from the Laura Elizabeth Stuart Memorial Trust, The Academy has been able to purchase digital equipment enabling tutors to expand, through the use of video, the range of tools used to verify learner’s progress and achievement as they undertake their training.
